Children and teachers of Year 1 were dressed in their pyjamas and cuddled with a soft toy. All were excited as it was story time. The teachers read about Zach and how he learnt to overcome his mistakes. It was a humorous book with a strong message. The children laughed at moments when characters shared their embarrassing moments and were in an awe of the character Mrs. Rosamond. Teachers actively engaged the children with effective questioning relating to the story. Surely everyone learnt the three steps when they do a mistake- detect, correct and reflect. And finally a realization that nobody is perfect. The children participated readily in completing the Online MS Quiz and shared their lovely pictures in action on the Padlet wall.

The International Day of Tolerance was celebrated on 1st March 2020. Children expressed their understanding of tolerance through writing Thank you messages to the nannies, bus conductors, drivers and other important support staff of the school and making videos on what tolerance means to them. It was indeed amazing to see how the little ones came forward and spoke about different ways of showing tolerance. Year1 C continued to celebrate the Year of Tolerance by incorporating their class assembly on TOLERANCE on Thursday 27th February 2020.
The performance was based on 3 different acts .The behavior of children in class, family’s behavior at home and bird’s intolerance towards how the other bird looked. They performed confidently in front of a huge audience (children, parents and teachers). It was an informative event as the children shed light on the importance of Tolerance in their everyday lives and successfully conveyed the key points to the audience. The dance on tolerance was fantastically performed by the children. The parents were overwhelmed by the confident presenters. The theatrical show on Aladdin and the magic lamp organized by Shakespeare for kidz had the children listening with curiosity and watching with memorization. Children were engrossed watching the characters as they enacted and sang with perfect clarity and emotion. The entire setting, costume and music took children to the magical world. Learning English by communicating, drawing, working on activities etc is what children of Year 1 demonstrated to their parents. A plethora of activities like cross word puzzle, enacting a character, creating your own setting etc. Parents were amazed to see the length and depth at which a language can be covered in a classroom.
