Another exciting day, 26th March 2019 for Year1’s. All children looked vibrant, dressed in their designated colours for the song competition.
They all exquisitely settled in the FS area anxiously waiting for their turn. Ms. Rakhi, Ms. Desiree and Ms. Sena judged the competition. The students from each class introduced their songs with over whelming confidence. The competition began with most melodious and heartwarming voices. Each class came up with their amazing performances. Year 1 C bagged the first position, Year 1 I second and Year 1 A third position in the competition. It was very well organized event.

Happy faces, happy gazes, warmth and laughter were seen all around the corridors of the Winchester school as World Happiness day was celebrated with enthusiasm on the 20th of March 2019.
People all around (teachers and children) were glowing with vibrant colours depicting their happy mood. Various fun filled activities were conducted in classrooms which were enjoyed by the little ones. The children were overjoyed as they shared their happy moments with their peers. It was surely a very jubilant happy day! Small foot is a charming animated musical adventure with an amazing strong plot. The story is about a group of Yetis who prove the existence of humans and how they portray love and kindness.
This movie conveys a powerful message on the importance of friendship, courage, joy of discovery and Tolerance on accepting people as they are. A beautiful animation with a powerful plot. A must see for all!! To commemorate the healthy growth and happiness of children in UAE, the Emirati children’s day was celebrated at the Winchester school on the 14th of March 2019.
Children clad in vibrant colours and full of energy were seen across the school. The Emirati children felt patriotic and proud of their country and spoke highly about it in their own sweet way. Various engaging fun filled activities were conducted in classes which were thoroughly enjoyed by the little ones. The grand finale was a music and dance session which kept the children rocking and rolling. Maths is an integrated part of life and is also known as the mother of all sciences. In order to celebrate this facet, the Winchester school took this initiative and celebrated World Maths Day on the 14th of March 2019. This event encouraged children to take part in competitive Maths themed games.
It was a perfect example of learning through play. The energetic players worked beautifully in supporting their teams/partners and presented an absolute example of collaborative learning while playing games like Scrabble Spelling, Pot of Gold, crossword puzzle etc. An ideal event to enhance the learning skills in children. Children of Year 1 F presented an informative Assembly on the Four Seasons.
This topic was very enriching as it shed light on the importance of seasons and the different festivals that fall in each season. The confident children performed beautifully and made their parents proud. The assembly concluded with a foot tapping song which the young stars performed enthusiastically. A strong and powerful message was conveyed by Year 1 I children on Anti Bullying.
Children were able to clearly elucidate the message on how one needs to react when being bullied by someone. The message delivered by the confident speakers was very evident and parents were overwhelmed to see the little talented ones execute it so beautifully. It was a spectacular sight to see the energetic shimmering rock stars sway to the catchy beats. The proud parents were over the moon with the outstanding performance and amazed how vividly a powerful message was delivered by their young ones. Indeed a wonderful effort put in by Year 1 I children. Keep up the good work!! A scrumptious and colorful fruity event was held on the 6th of March 2019 in the year 1 classrooms.
The young children all clad in white with aprons, chef hats and gloves were all set for the pleasurable activity as they began their day. The little chefs enjoyed following instructions clearly as they washed, cut and peeled a variety of fruits and pushed them on the wooden skewers, giving it the Rainbow look! The sweet dip made of yoghurt and honey was a treat too. Children were over the moon with their accomplishment and relished on these appetizing Kebabs. One of the most enduring classics is brought vividly to the stage in the exciting adventure of Mowgli, the Indian boy, raised by caring wolves, befriended by Bagheera, the Panther, and Baloo, the Bear, and threatened by Shere Khan, the evil tiger. Also present are an array of other jungle creatures who inhabit this action-filled show.
Filled with excitement and humor, the show highlights the struggle of good versus evil, the worth of friendship, and the importance of loyalty and other values required for surviving the "law of the jungle." A splendid musical show truly enjoyed by the young delightful audience. |
